# Three-nucleon Force in Nucleus-nucleus Elastic Scattering at Medium Energy: Application to $$\alpha$$-4He Scattering| Chapter 6 | Research Trends and Challenges in Physical Science Vol.8

The general formalism of nucleus-nucleus elastic scattering is described within the framework of optical limit approximation with inclusion of the three-nucleon force effect. The interaction is modelled using a three-nucleon force profile function. A satisfactory agreement with the experimental data of elastic scattering differential cross section at the momenta 4.32, 5.07, and 7 GeV/c is achieved in the case of (alpha)-4 He scattering. The big slope parameter value calculated from the nucleon-nucleon interaction radius improves the computation results. For (q2 geq 0.1) (GeV/c)2, we show that the three-nucleon force impact is important and unambiguous.
