A Goal Programming Approach to Rubber Plantation Planning in Tripura and Formulation of Mathematical Model

In Tripura, one of the thrust areas has been identified as rubber. After Kerala, Tripura is the country’s second-largest rubber producer. The rubber tree matures in six to seven years, following which production begins naturally. Rubber plantations go through two stages in their economic life cycle: immature and mature. Rubber tree cultivation is a high-cost, long-term investment, with the first phase consisting of all expenses and no return. The costs of rubber plantations can be divided into two categories: material costs and labour costs. Using the Goal Programming approach, an attempt was made to construct a strategic planning in this study.
