Aims: The histopathological effects of Profenofos, and organophosphate, as artificial organophosphorus pesticides, on the liver, kidney, brain and spleen tissues in mice (Mus musculus) were determined by light-weight research. Recently the poisonous effects of pesticides are of public interest. The usage of pesticides remains the foremost effective and accepted suggests that to guard plants from the pests and to will increase productivity. The misuse of pesticides is connected with serious issues of pollution and health hazards. Profenofos and organophosphate is employed wide in Egypt and that they play an important role in dominant insect pests of cotton and vegetables [1].

Study Design: Mice were treated with Profenofos, and organophosphate sub-lethal concentrations (1/10, 1/40 and ADI LD50) orally to doubly per week for thirty, 60, and ninety consecutive days.

Place and period of Study: Department of chemistry college of Agriculture, Cairo University, Egypt, between June 2012 and Jan 2013.

Results: Histopathological examination discovered varied abnormalities in liver tissues, like congestion of blood vessels, vacuolar degeneration of viscus cells, focal infiltration and mononucleate cells, Moreover, all central veins and alternative viscus blood vessels were expanded, some viscus cells showed sphacelus, disorganization with the formation of a denoid structure and a few areas showed hepatocytomegaly with the rise of the quantity of cells showing double nuclei. Pathological finding in urinary organ showed perivascular oedema with congestion of nephritic blood vessels, infiltration of mononucleate cells and around a number of capillary tubules, oedema of Bowman’s capsule and a few nephritic tubules showed activity sphacelus. Pathological finding in spleen showed disorganization of lymphocytes in humor follicles and in white pulp, depletion of lymphocyts with sub capsular oedema, and alternative cases showed increasing the quantity of megaterocytes with hemorrhages and symptom. Pathological finding in Brain showed menengial hemorrhages and congestion of blood vessels, with neuronophagia and satelletosis and sub meningial encephalomalacia, with somatic cell degeneration of purkinjie cells were detected and lesions, there was lyses of some neurons with demylenation of nerve fibers and privascular and pricellular oedema. This investigation proves the poisonous effects of Profenofos, and organophosphate at organ level.

Conclusion: The histopathological knowledge showed that profenofos exhibited histopathological changes in liver, kidney, spleen and brain. Liver showed viscus cell harm with chronic changes. urinary organ showed heamorrhages, edema, sphacelus and glomeruli shrinkage. The spleen showed slight deplesion of the lymphocytes of the white pulp. The brain showed opening oedema and severe sphacelus. From these results we tend to over that liver is that the most sensitive organ and profenofos harm the structure of liver cells additional severely than organophosphate on anomaly mice. [5]
